Falls prevention in older adults

Did you know that Falls are the second leading cause of unintentional injury deaths worldwide?

Falls not only lead to superficial injuries such as bruises, cuts and fractures, but can also impact confidence, independence, and ability to perform daily tasks.

To prevent the risk of falls and maintain balance we suggest:

• Regular resistance exercises to build muscular strength and endurance

- An exercise program to challenge balance and stability

• The removal of tripping hazards around the home

• Sensible footwear

At Darwin Health Group we will offer strength and balance exercises for older adults looking to improve stability and confidence, reduce falls risk or increase exercise frequency.
